Our Wines

At Punku, we adhere to the minimalist concept for the production of all our wines, considering minimal human intervention.

Each of our offerings reflects the passion and dedication we put into the fine art of winemaking. All our productions are in limited batches, only when harvest conditions are optimal.

At Punku, we bottle stories that, when uncorked, invite you to create your own. Inviting you to embark on a journey of overcoming, a challenge to not settle for the known and to dare to pursue those desires.

"An Astronaut!" That was my nephew's answer to the question, "What would you like to be when you grow up?" How many of us have remained faithful to that first childhood idea? This wine invites us to sit down, reflect, and reconsider those projects we have set aside and put them into action.

The Astronaut is a blend of RED GRENACHE AND CARIGNAN, from vines over 70 years old on gravel and slate soil. A rigorous selection of the highest quality old vines is carried out. The harvest is done manually, at the optimal moment of phenolic maturity. Fermentation and maceration last 30 days at less than 24ºC, followed by aging in French oak for 12 months, and then another year refining in the bottle before being released to the market.

Tasting Notes

It is an attractive, aromatic, and intense red wine. Although it is also a blend of Grenache and Carignan like Matilda, it has a distinct personality. It mixes ripe red and black fruits, such as plums or black cherries, with spicy aromas of clove, vanilla, and black pepper. As it opens up, different layers of complexity appear, such as notes of leather, tobacco, mushrooms, or underbrush... On the palate, it shows the generosity and depth of old vines; it is fleshy and robust. It is a tribute to the craft of winemaking, where each sip tells a story of passion and dedication.

SERVICE: We recommend opening it 30 minutes before serving and at a temperature between 14ºC and 16ºC.
